Some songs demand attention with explosive choruses or towering production. Others settle quietly beneath your skin, revealing more of themselves with every listen. Lapse’s debut single “October” belongs to the latter. The four-piece’s first release is an introspective exploration of the complicated emotions that come with outgrowing relationships and learning that choosing yourself doesn’t always feel empowering in the moment. Instead, “October” sits comfortably in uncertainty, acknowledging that growth can often arrive hand-in-hand with guilt.
